Ya Boi Ms. Sharpe Takes Over: GSA recommends

Waddup Ladysmith, it’s ya boi, Ms. Sharpe!

Have you ever wondered, “gosh, I wonder what I’m going to read next?”  Have you ever wished you could see your own unique and excellent (L, G, B, T, Q, P, A, 2S, I) self in the books you read?  In this blog post/series of blog posts, I bring you book and author recommendations, true facts from the heart of your very own Sharknado.

If you like short stories…

Storyteller Ivan E. Coyote hails from the Yukon and shares their experience of growing up non-binary in a close-knit rural community.  Their stories explore themes like growing up,first kisses, self-expression, family, and home. Your own Sharknado first discovered Coyote in Boys Like Her,  a collection of stories and poems created by Coyote’s performance art group, Taste This, and published way back in 1998!  Coyote has been writing and performing ever since. Our library has many of Coyote’s works including One in Every Crowd, a collection of stories specifically for LGBTQ+ youth, and their most recent work, Tomboy Survival Guide.

That’s it for today, folks!

Be sure to visit us here at the library blog -- or better yet -- the library!

Toodles,

Sharknado

If one of these recommendations caught your eye - come see me in the library today to check it out! And if short stories aren’t your jam - stay tuned. Ya Boi Ms. Sharpe is just getting started! - Mrs. Girard
